Life {Unscripted} Blog Circle: Volume 25

It's hard to believe that the end of September is upon us already, but with as much as we had going on during the month, it's no wonder that the time flew by!  September was a BIG month for us - we celebrated the end of summer with a trip to Discovery World and the annual neighborhood party, we traveled to Wisconsin Dells for a weekend stay at the Kalahari Resort with family, and we made the first of what will most likely be many trips to the an apple orchard.  Of course, the twins also started school this month!

Fall shows no sign of slowing down; October promises to be even busier than September was with pumpkin patches, petting farms, play dates, and Halloween festivities quickly filling our calendar!

It's Apple Pickin' Time! (*A Local Outings Blog Circle*)

Last week, the twins and I celebrated the first day of fall with a trip to a local apple orchard.  We had plans to visit the orchard with the MOMS Club the day before, but I was forced to cancel that trip due to the heavy rain that fell that day.  The following day was cooler, cloudy, and quite foggy, but it was an absolutely PERFECT day for apple picking!  We didn't have to share the orchard with many other people; most people probably stayed away because of the gloomy weather.  We didn't mind it, though!  We picked and ate our way through the orchard, even stopping to pick some pears for the first time, and treated ourselves to apple cider donuts and apple cinnamon scones when we were through!

After sharing apples with classmates and neighbors, eating several for snacks and with meals, and making one delicious batch of crockpot applesauce, we have very few apples left.  It looks like we'll need to make another trip to the orchard!

Scroll down to view some of the pictures that I took during our visit to the orchard, and remember to click on the link at the bottom of the post to see what others in our blog circle have been up to this month!

Life {Unscripted} Blog Circle: Volume 24

I have been a long time follower and fan of the amazingly talented team of women behind Life {Unscripted}, an online community of photographers who value the importance of capturing life's unscripted moments.  So when I was asked to join this group as a Facebook page admin and as a blog circle contributor, it didn't take me long to say "YES!"  I'm not sure that I'm quite worthy to be among them, but I look forward to working with them and to learning from them!

Each month, the photographers of Life {Unscripted} share their unscripted moments in a blog circle. I am honored to be taking part in my first L{U} blog circle today with some of my favorite captures from the month of August.

We spent most of August soaking up the last of summer with swim classes in the neighborhood pool, trips to local fairs and a nature center, and lots of time "doing tricks" on the twins' new (to them) scooters.  As always, time was made for LEGOs and artwork.  I experimented with light quite a lot this month, shooting through plastic packaging, a ziploc bag, and Saran Wrap.  I even covered a filter in Vaseline to create some interesting images!

Thank you to the wonderful Life {Unscripted} team for allowing me to join your ranks!  I am honored to work among you!

After taking a peek at our unscripted moments, please follow the link at the end of the post to see the GORGEOUS sunflower field photos captured by the talented Courtney Maltman this month!
