Project 365: Week Forty-Eight

Here I am, late again!  Quite late this time, actually.  Today's Project 365 update comes about a week overdue.  The forty-eighth week of 2013 brought a Thanksgiving spent away from home and celebrated over Domino's pizza, and a fun-filled weekend with friends at the Weihnachtsmarkt in Frankfurt, Germany.  It was during this week, and on Thanksgiving especially, that we truly began to miss home.  Fortunately, we are just about one week away from beginning our journey home for Christmas!

330/365:  Bath Night

I had been debating whether or not to give the twins a bath on Tuesday night...and then they ate spaghetti for dinner.  Bath Night, it was!

331/365:  The Kids in the Hall

Maddie and Will were waiting for me to put on my shoes and coat before we left for the grocery store.  They were probably talking about me.

332/365:  No Such Luck

Knowing that the chances were slim but DESPERATE for a touch of home on Thanksgiving Day, I turned on the television for perhaps the second time during our stay here to search (all 30 channels) for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  We didn't find it, of course.  We did stumble upon Everybody Loves Raymond (in English!); I allowed Will to bask in the glow of the television while I enjoyed laughing at Raymond and Robert for a few minutes.

333/365:  Downtime

We spent much of Friday on the longer-than-anticipated road trip to Frankfurt, Germany; no pictures were taken in or from the car.  This picture of Jim and Maddie relaxing in our hotel room high above the city of Frankfurt was taken on Saturday morning before meeting the Nowicki Family and visiting the Christmas Market together.

334/365:  A Night at the Market

Although we had already visited the market earlier on Saturday evening, Kerri and I headed back for the shopping and picture-taking that we weren't able to accomplish with the families in tow.  We had just started shopping for souvenirs and gifts when we realized that the market was closing for the night.  We hurried to buy a couple items and take a few pictures before we returned to the hotel.  We returning to the Market to shop and eat some more on Sunday morning.

335/365:  Christmas Carousel

We bid farewell to the Weihnachtsmarkt and to Matt and Kerri and their boys on Sunday morning, but not before we all took a spin on the carousel! The twins enjoyed the ride; Maddie enjoyed it so much that she threw a sweet tantrum upon disembarking!

336/365:  You Spin Me Right Round, Baby

It doesn't come remotely close to the carousel that we left behind in Frankfurt, but the old merry-go-round in our bungalow park made Maddie a happy girl when we visited the sad little playground on Monday afternoon.  While Will liked to ride atop the merry-go-round while I pushed it, Maddie preferred to spin it around herself.
