We've spent the last several days preparing for and then celebrating Valentine's Day with those that we love. Last week, we created tissue paper hearts to hang in our kitchen window, colored and mailed Valentines for family members, and whipped up and enjoyed some sweet treats.
On Saturday, we celebrated our love for our two little sweethearts with a trip to Starbucks followed by a special story time at Barnes and Noble and lunch (and lots of fun) with Mimi and Papa at one of the twins' favorite restaurants, The Roman Candle.
After treating the twins to a special Valentine's Day edition of breakfast-for-dinner and putting them to bed, we treated ourselves to wine, steaks, and chocolate covered strawberries.
We hope that you enjoyed a LOVELY Valentine's Day with your own sweethearts!

| Decorating cards to send to those that we love |
| Will was happy to make cards for family members, but he didn't spend more time than needed to do so. |
| Maddie, on the other hand, spent a good hour adding her own flair to her cards. |
| At some point, she decided that all of the hearts on all of the cards must be colored blue. |
| She took to smearing the blue marker with her finger and then wiping her finger on her face, neck, and even her toes. |
| She didn't care, though. |
| Yeah. You got a little marker on your hands. |
| We will call this her "Blue Period". |
| Once the cards were colored and stuffed into envelopes, it was out to the mailboxes! |
| Will insisted on wearing his "birthday hat" on Friday. |
| Next up - Valentine's pretzel buttons! |
| Our Valentine's Day started with snuggles and cider (and coffee) at Starbucks. |
| After story time, it was on to meet Mimi and Papa at The Roman Candle for chalk drawing, block building, rocket ship riding...and pizza! |
| We basically had the restaurant to ourselves, allowing Will and Maddie free reign over the play area. |
| She took a short nap after our full morning, but as soon as she awoke, Maddie got started on the new coloring book that her Mimi and Papa gave her. She didn't quit until it was time for dinner. |

I think the kids got my address wrong because I haven't received my Valentine yet. :)
