Last Thursday, we found ourselves with nothing to do on a warm and sunny afternoon. We could have stayed in and cleaned the twins' rooms, but doing so would have been a waste of such a beautiful day (and would have resulted in rooms that would have stayed clean for approximately 5 minutes). We decided to head to the beach at Doctors Park instead! I packed up our beach toys, slathered all of us in sunscreen, and off we went!
We spent the afternoon combing through the sand for colorful rocks, washing those rocks in lake water, and using those rocks to create a "home" for beach bugs! Will loved standing at the water's edge and allowing the waves to wash over his feet, while Maddie enjoyed seeing the rocks "change color" as she rinsed them off in the water. Maddie and Will would have stayed on the beach until the sun set if they could have; I had to lure them away with the promise of cold drinks from the Starbucks drive-thru. (It's a rough life they lead, isn't it?)
