Last weekend, we celebrated Dakota's third birthday with a friendly game of bowling followed by lunch, cake, and presents with the birthday girl!
Jim and I met the birthday girl and other party guests at Village Bowl in Menomonee Falls for Dakota's first experience with bowling and for what has become our annual bowl (The last time that we went bowling was at the Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells in February 2010). For her first time bowling, Dakota did great (the bumpers and ramp surely helped). We didn't do so shabby ourselves (and we weren't lucky enough to get bumpers OR a ramp)!
Once the last pins had fallen and we had taken off our "clown shoes", as Dakota called them, we caravaned to the home of the birthday girl for salad, pizza, Dora cake, and of course, PRESENTS! The gift of the year: a vacuum cleaner given by Grandma Carol, who, incidentally, gave the gift of the year at
last year's birthday party!
It's safe to say that Dakota enjoyed her special day! We did as well! Happy birthday, Dakota Paige!
