We celebrated Father's Day with a trip to Door County. After dropping Bailey off at Camp Bowwow on Friday, we drove the family truckster, stuffed to the gills with clothing, food, toys, and equipment, to the Landmark Resort in Egg Harbor for the twins' first hotel stay! Although we had taken a road trip to Door County late last summer, this was our first "real" trip with Maddie and Will. Other than a few mosquito bites and a missing sippy cup, we survived unscathed! Moreover, we made some wonderful memories AND gained the confidence that we need to take our first trip outside of the state later this summer! We're fairly certain that Maddie and Will enjoyed themselves; they cried each time we left their Mimi and Papa's camper to return to our hotel room for the night. Yet who can blame them, when visits to the camper bring bubbles, "moon chairs", cupcakes, fruit, toys, and play time with cousins?
When we visited Door County last year, the twins were little more than lumps who sat around and did nothing. This year, they could do so much more! When we visit next year, we can only imagine the fun that we can have with them!
