I think I need to stop sleeping. I don't know how else to fit it all in! I had the BEST of intentions to post a summary of and pictures taken on the twins' third birthday ever since their birthday TWO MONTHS AGO, but it never happened. I really don't know how others stay on top of their blogs as well as life in general!
Hopefully, this post brings the recommitment to the blog that I would like. Lord knows I have the pictures to share...which could be the problem. Too many pictures means time spent editing and then uploading and sharing those pictures to the various Facebook, Instagram, and Flickr groups in which I participate.
Anyway...I better get back to the task at hand before this renewed interest in the blog fades or the twins demand to be released from their rooms and the naps that they are surely resisting. Two months ago, we were given a beautiful day on which to celebrate the twins' THIRD birthday with a fun-filled trip to the zoo, lunch at Friday's Front Row, time to play at the Miller Park play area, and watermelon, guacamole, and hot dogs in the backyard. We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful day for the occasion!
So far, three isn't so bad. We had been worried about what this year would bring, given all the talk about "threenagers" and all. What IS scary, though, is the fact that the twins will be turning FOUR upon their next birthday. That just can't be possible.
For now, we'll enjoy our threenagers...and ignore the fact that they are growing up too quickly.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse donuts for breakfast for our 3 year olds!
Will looked like such a big boy with his new (at the time) haircut. He still looks like a big boy, but he's due for another cut!
Maddie was in awe of Daddy's singing.
Maddie had no problem blowing out the candle on her donut on her birthday, but had a lot of trouble with the candle on the cake at the twins' party.
My smiley guy in the morning haze.
He went at the candle with gusto just as he did during the twins' party, but this candle just wouldn't go out!
This picture is just too precious...
Yum!
The twins shopped for and exchanged gifts with one another for the first time this year. Maddie's gift to Will was a Build Your Own and Take Apart Crane Truck. Daddy and Will assembled the truck after breakfast that morning.
Daddy taught Will to use a drill to put the crane truck together.
Will gave Maddie a new set of Color Wonder coloring books and markers. No joke - she filled both books by the end of that weekend. The girl likes to color.
After a brief visit to the zoo to see the animals and RIDE THE TRAIN! and lunch at Friday's, we took the twins to the Miller Park playground for some birthday play. Daddy was coerced into taking Maddie down the tunnel slide.
He was happy to do so for his birthday girl.
Maddie has been a bit hesitant about going down slides this spring. She never did go down this slide on her own!
The twins were sad to leave the playground, but we promised to return.
Once home, we headed right back outside to enjoy the warm weather, some backyard play, and some WATERMELON!
Welcome to Good Times, a blog established to share news, notes, and photos from Jim,Maddie, Will, Bailey, and me with our family and friends! We hope that you enjoy your visit, and that you will return again soon!
