Unfortunately, Gilbert's first playdate with Bailey didn't go as well as we had hoped it would. As soon as Gilbert arrived, Bailey chased the poor puppy through the hallway and kitchen. After the two were separated, it was clear that neither had been hurt, but Gilbert was definitely frightened (Bailey had literally scared the crap out of Gilbert!).
A few minutes later, we thought we'd re-introduce the dogs on more neutral territory in the backyard. The second meeting went much more smoothly; for the most part, Bailey ignored Gilbert.
The two dogs went to their respective crates during dinner, but Gilbert accompanied us outside for a fire after we finished eating. While we were outside, Bailey was inside the house (and now out of his crate) causing all sorts of mischief: urinating on the carpet, stealing corn husks from a garbage bag, and jumping over the baby gate that was meant to keep him on the second floor. By the end of the evening, we were begging Chris and Mike to take Bailey with them and to leave Gilbert behind! As I've noted here before, Bailey just might rival Marley as the world's worst dog!
Gilbert is just too precious. Congratulations, Chris and Mike, on the new addition to your home! We hope that your dog won't become the monster that Bailey is!

What a cute dog, but you'd lose all your fun stories without Bailey, ha ha.
