Seattle Harbor Cruise

With beautifully sunny skies, Jim and I headed from the Market down to the water for a cruise of the Seattle harbor aboard the Argosy Spirit of Seattle. The one-hour tour took us out on the waters of the Puget Sound for breathtaking views of the city.

There were a number of sailboats as well as several large cruise ships on the water. A large group of passengers on our flight to Seattle were bound for Alaska aboard one of the cruise ships.

We had a great view of the Space Needle from the boat. Jim and I visited the Space Needle and took the elevator to the top of it on Sunday night.

The Seattle Aquarium is naturally situated on the water. The aquarium underwent a major remodel in 2006. Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners, is also located near the waters of the Sound. Jim and I went to the ballpark to watch the Mariners play against the Yankees on Sunday afternoon.

The port of Seattle is home to many huge cranes and cargo ships. During our stay in Seattle, we spotted a few gigantic container ships floating in the Sound and presumably headed to Alaska.
