Last Saturday, we jumped in the car - packed to the gills with gifts, blankets, toys, bottles, and babies - and drove over the river and through the woods to Mimi and Papa's house for our traditional Christmas celebration. It was the "first of the first" Christmas gatherings for the babies, and a test run for the gatherings that would follow.
By the end of the evening, we could proclaim the babies' first Christmas gathering a huge success: Both Maddie and Will took a short nap, allowing us to eat a meal undisturbed, the babies seemed to enjoy opening the piles of presents with which they were spoiled, and dozens of precious memories were made. We will remember this first Christmas celebration as the one during which Maddie stole gift wrap and gifts away from her brother, the one during which Maddie fell in love with the present that we had given to Emma, the one during which Will kept losing his pants, and the one during which we attempted {and failed} to get a nice picture of Mimi and Papa with all of their grandchildren.
With so much fun, it was no surprise that Maddie and Will fell asleep in the car before we were even 5 minutes out of Mimi and Papa's driveway!

| It was near impossible to get a "nice" picture of Mimi and Papa with all four of the grandchildren, but the pictures that we did manage to get are priceless! |
