Project 365: Week Eighteen

The eighteenth week of Project 365 brought shorts, open doors and windows, bubbles, and sunshine.  Unfortunately for us, it also brought long evenings of work, several days of fever, runny noses, and an injured dog.  For the latter reasons, I am glad that the week is behind us.   We're keeping our fingers crossed that this week will be an improvement over last!

120/365:  Bubble Boy

Tuesday was a long day for all of us - After skipping the twins' morning nap, we went to the twins' 12-month well-check, at which Maddie and Will were poked, prodded, and given three shots apiece.  I had to drop the twins off at daycare immediately after the appointment.  When we finally returned home after school, I rewarded the twins with bubbles for such a rough day.  Maddie was too exhausted to care too much for the bubbles, but Will went at them with gusto, trying to pop the bubbles that floated near him!  He also likes to mimic me as I blow the bubbles, pursing his lips together and attempting to blow at the same time.

121/365:  Budget Time

Last week, Jim could be found in front of his computer screen and at the kitchen table most nights, planning and budgeting for the upcoming fiscal year.  Kids, look what fun you miss out on when you go to sleep!

122/365:  Giddy Up!

Last fall, a friend gave us a Bounce and Spin Zebra among many other toys and clothes.  We put the zebra in the little storage that we have, knowing that the twins would not be ready for the toy for some time.  Well, "some time" has arrived!  I decided to bring the zebra upstairs last week.  Both Maddie and Will enjoy sitting on it and bouncing up and down and spinning round and round, but Maddie especially seems to like it.  The twins are both working on climbing on and off the zebra all by themselves!

123/365:  Being a Naughty Dog is Tiring Work!

Jim picked up Mexican food from a local restaurant on Friday night.  After we had eaten our meals at the bar in the basement, we both went upstairs to tend to a crying baby, leaving the door to the basement open and our dishes on the bar.  Somehow, someway, our nine year old beagle jumped/climbed onto a bar stool to lick the remains of the meal off of Jim's plate.  Jim came downstairs to catch Bailey red-handed.  Later, satisfied with his success, he relaxed in his bed.  Two days later, it seemed that Bailey was feeling the impact of his dangerous heist - he was moving very slowly and seemed to be in pain.  We suspect that he hurt his back while committing the crime.  He is now taking pain medication.

124/365:  On the Patio

While his sister caught up on some much-needed sleep to fight off her cold and fever, Will spent a few minutes soaking up some spring sunshine on the patio.  Will and Maddie just love the outdoors; it will be a fun summer!

125/365:  Waiting for the Boys to Come Home

With a fever and a cold that she just cannot seem to shake, Maddie needed as much rest as she could get this weekend.  While her daddy and brother went to her cousin Connor's fourth birthday party, Maddie stayed at home with me.  We had a QUIET (it's amazing how quiet the house seems when only one child is in it) day of play and sleep.  By the end of the afternoon, we were both ready for the boys to come home.  We watched and waited at the front door until they did!

126/365:  Splash Attack!

Last night's bathtime started, continued, and ended with splashing!  Over the course of the bath, Will and Maddie succeeded in splashing much of their bath water out of the tub and some of it on me (and my camera)!  My camera appears to be undamaged, and my clothes quickly dried.  Getting a little wet was worth the giggles and screams of delight!
