While we spend Christmas Eve with my family, it is tradition to spend Christmas Day with Jim's family at his grandma's house. Before we headed there, though, we celebrated our very first Christmas morning as a family of four as we opened the gifts that both Santa and Mama and Daddy left under the tree. It was a moment for which we had long hoped and waited!
On Christmas morning, Will showed more interest in opening and investigating gifts than he had in the days leading up to Christmas. He was engaged in playing with the Poppity Pop Musical Dino that Santa had brought for him for about ten minutes - a record for Will, who doesn't stay focused on one activity for very long! Maddie, of course, was thrilled with her present from Santa, the Magical Musical Mirror that she had so coveted when it was given to her cousin just a couple days before.
After a solid morning nap, we got all fancied up for the day-long celebration at Gigi's house! There, the babies were once again spoiled with gifts ranging from clothes and books to a tunnel through which they can crawl! They posed for thousands of pictures and flashed lots of smiles. They played with and attempted to eat paper, played with their new toys, and did some snuggling. When the day was done, Will and Maddie (and Mama and Daddy) were exhausted but happy...the perfect end to a wonderful first Christmas Day!
