Baby Race

A couple weeks ago, Maddie, who had been showing signs that she would start crawling soon, began using Will's unique approach to crawling to move across a room.  She spent just a few days using the "swim crawl" to move herself to her desired location before she transitioned to a more traditional army crawl. 

Baby Girl has been a girl on the move ever since!  She's always crawling, and nearly always smiling and laughing while doing it!  Maddie loves the ability to move!  And what Maddie lacks in size, she makes up for in speed!  She's quick!  She's even faster than Will in some cases, as seen in the video below! 

As exciting as it is that both Will and Maddie are now mobile, it does make them a bit more difficult to care for!  This past weekend had both Jim and I attempting to corral the babies away from the Christmas tree (still up), the heating vents (Do they make covers for those?), and other potentially unsafe scenarios. 

So to keep the twins out of trouble BUT encourage movement, we (I?) have been setting up "Baby Races".  Are we promoting competition and fighting between our two munchkins?  Probably.  But it's fun to watch...and it keeps them away from the heating vents.
