Back from Boston

After spending five days exploring all that the city had to offer, Jim and I returned from Boston on Thursday evening.  While in Boston, Jim and I walked the Freedom Trail, visited Fenway Park for a Red Sox game, took a sunset harbor cruise, toured Samuel Adams brewery, visited the Harvard campus, and dined at some fabulous restaurants.  We also ventured outside of Boston to drive to Cape Cod for a day.

We arrived in Boston on Saturday afternoon.  After catching a taxi to our hotel and dropping off our luggage, Jim and I made the first of many trips toward Fanueil Marketplace for lunch at Anthem, where we enjoyed some quintessential New England dishes - a bowl of Boston clam chowder (or "chowda", as locals call it) and a lobster ("lobsta") roll.

The heat wave had followed us to Boston, so we didn't spend too much time exploring the marketplace - there would be time for that.  We headed back to the hotel for a little disco nap (Jim) and some Kardashians (Did you know that one version or another of that show is on the E! Network at all times?) before we got all dolled up for an amazing dinner at Hamersley's in the South End.

Stay tuned for much, much more from our trip to Beantown.  Up next:  The Freedom Trail (Part 1).

We stayed at The Langham Hotel in Boston's Financial District,  just minutes away from The Freedom Trail, Boston Common, and Long Wharf.  Our room was small and the pizza that we ordered from room service tasted like ass, but the hotel was available at a discounted price when we booked our trip just a few short weeks ago.

We started and ended our trip here at Anthem - We ate lunch at Anthem on both our first day and our last day in Boston.

We passed on the PBR Pounder in a brown paper bag...

Tremont Street in Boston's South End is lined with bow-front row houses and stores all made of red brick.

We're all smiles after an awesome dinner!
