Samuel Adams Brewery

The morning after we visited Fenway Park, Jim and I once again boarded the "T", this time with our sights set on the Boston neighborhood of Jamaica Plain, home to the Samuel Adams Brewery.  Although we didn't spend much time in Jamaica Plain, it did not seem to be the best of areas.  We walked straight from the train station to the brewery and back.  Lucky for our hungry bellies, there was a small deli located very close to the brewery.  We stopped there for a light lunch before proceeding on to the brewery for a free tour and tasting. 

Jim and I have taken our fair share of brewery tours (Miller, Lakefront Brewery, Rock Bottom, Capitol, New Glarus) over the years.  The tour at the Samuel Adams Brewery ranks near the top of our list for best brewery tours, as our tour guide didn't spend a long time boring us with information about the beer-making process (That information always goes in one ear and out the other.).  Instead, he quickly highlighted key points before leading us into a tasting room, where he continued to talk with the group while pitchers of Sam Adams were passed around. 

After buying souvenirs, taking a few more sips of Sam Adams brews, and shooting a couple more pictures, Jim and I hightailed it back to the train station to return to Boston to complete the second half of the Freedom Trail.
