Opening Day

The sun was shining upon Miller Park and the Milwaukee Brewers today as they narrowly won the first in a three-game series in a home opener against the hated Chicago Cubs. We were there for it all - from the parking debacle to the exciting finish.

We reached the parking lot later than we had planned to due much in part to the bumper to bumper traffic. We still had plenty of time, however, to enjoy drinks, brats, and some sun. While the wind was a bit cool, the sun kept us warm and comfortable while we tailgated.

Once again, Jim was a master of the grill. He cooked up some fine cheddarwurst for today's tailgate.

Drumroll please...presenting Chris and MIKE in Mike's debut on Good Times. Congratulations on your first appearance on the blog, Mike (Well, the first showing of your entire face, anyways)!

Once inside the stadium, I was mighty pleased to see that fewer Cubs fans made the trip up to see today's game than I expected. It's about time that Brewers fans show up for Brewers-Cubs games at Miller Park!

Jim and I purchased a 10-game ticket package for the season. This year, we will once again sit with Matt and Kerri. We will also be joined by fellow UW-Madison alums Maggie and Ryan.

Bernie's back! And so are the racing sausages! The Hot Dog literally fell across the finish line today, nearly causing a sausage pile-up!

The Brewers had been trailing the Cubs by a run until the ninth inning, when Rickie Weeks tied the game with a double, and later won the game with a slide into home.

The crowd went wild when Weeks was called safe at home!

We were all smiles after an exciting Brewers win on Opening Day! Go Brewers!
