This weekend was jam-packed with food, family, friends, festivals, and fun! On Friday night, Jim and I went with Matt and Kerri to see the 90's punk rock band, The Offspring, at Summerfest. While we waited for the band to come on stage, we delighted in the foods and beverages of Summerfest. The people-watching was all that we had hoped for and more. We were treated to a great performance from The Offspring, who sounded just as good as they had back in their heyday. On Saturday night, we attended (and closed) Chris and Mike's housewarming party. On Sunday, my mom and I made our annual pilgrimage to Cedarburg for the Cedarburg Strawberry Festival. Shortly after arriving at the festival, we met Sue, Matt, and Dakota, who were just leaving after spending the morning there. It was a Burch family affair at the festival today; after parting ways with Sue, Matt, and Dakota, my brother, Bobby, joined us in touring the festival.
Though it was warm under the sun and crowded with many visitors, we enjoyed the sights, sounds, and tastes of the festival. One can find anything and everything strawberry in Cedarburg during the annual festival; to risk sounding a bit like Bubba, there's strawberry slush, strawberry wine, strawberry sundaes, strawberry shortcake, chocolate-covered strawberries, strawberry ice cream, strawberry pie, strawberry crepes, strawberry schaum torte, and even strawberry brats at the festival! We did partake in several of the strawberry delicacies. As we enjoyed our strawberry treats, we shuffled through the throngs of people and perused the arts and crafts on display on Washington Avenue. Paintings, purses, jewelry, and handbags were just a few of the items on display and for sale.
It was a "berry" good weekend, but it was a busy one! I'm tired!

I've always wanted to head up to the Strawberry Festival. It looks tasty. Yum! And, wow, does your little brother look like Shia!
