A Day at the Zoo: Elephants

If you're familiar with the Milwaukee County Zoo, then you know that the elephants are housed in an exhibit not far from the giraffes. Our next stop during our field trip to the zoo was to greet the wrinkly elephants. We watched in awe as the elephants stripped logs of their bark and fed themselves. On my list of favorite zoo animals, the elephant ranks right up there near the top as well (as evidenced by the many pictures posted below). They are magnificent creatures.

Becky, did you go to the Milwaukee County Zoo? I don't think we saw the same zoos...seriously. Your animals looked so much more lively and healthy...maybe they bring in the third string on Friday afternoons...wow, what a difference...it's like you were in Africa and I was at the carnival.
